M.2 harbors is actually high-rates storage expansion harbors regularly link solid-county drives (SSDs) and you can Wi-Fi notes. Even when no further placed on progressive motherboards, AGP slots were perhaps one of the most popular choices on the earlier in the day. PCI (Peripheral Parts Interconnect) ports are among the typical expansion slots into the a good motherboard. One of the most very important features of an excellent motherboard is actually its expandability, which is reached owing to individuals expansion harbors.
Eventually, the key benefits of expansion harbors surpass the fresh disadvantages for the majority of profiles. Users need stand updated on the current position criteria and you can innovation to make certain much time-label being compatible and you may supply of expansion cards. Such as, ISA slots had been gradually replaced by PCI slots, and AGP ports are no stretched are not used in modern motherboards.
